Terms of Service
West Island Media · fieldlog.studio
1.Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Field Log Studio and its associated platforms — SkyLog (skylog.space), BirdLog (birdlog.earth), and SeaLog (sealog.earth) — collectively referred to as “the Service,” you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2.Description of Service
Field Log Studio provides cataloging and logging platforms for nature photographers and enthusiasts. The Service allows users to upload, organize, and optionally share images related to astrophotography, birding, marine life, and other natural observations. The Service includes free and paid subscription tiers.
3.Account Registration
You must create an account to use most features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
4.Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed annually. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize West Island Media to charge your chosen payment method. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your billing settings. Plan changes made mid-cycle are prorated: upgrades are charged the prorated difference immediately, and downgrades are applied as account credit toward your next renewal. If you upgrade by accident, contact support within 7 days of the charge and we will reverse the upgrade and refund the prorated amount. Outside of this 7-day window, no refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. Pricing may change with reasonable notice.
5.User Content
You retain full ownership of any images, text, or other content you upload to the Service (“User Content”). By uploading content, you grant West Island Media a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. Images are private by default. If you choose to share images publicly via “The Field” (public gallery), they become visible to other users. You may remove public images at any time, returning them to private. You must not upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, contains illegal material, or violates any applicable law.
6.Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; upload malicious code, spam, or automated content; impersonate any person or entity; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; scrape, harvest, or collect user data without authorization; or use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users.
7.AI Features
The Service may include AI-powered identification features. These features provide suggestions only and should not be relied upon as authoritative identifications. West Island Media makes no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-generated results.
8.Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that is harmful to the Service or other users. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and we may delete your data after a reasonable retention period.
9.Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. West Island Media shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10.Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11.Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Quebec.
