West Island Media (“we,” “us”) operates Field Log Studio and its associated platforms — SkyLog, BirdLog, and SeaLog. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (managed securely by our authentication provider, Clerk).

User content: Images and metadata you upload to the Service, including EXIF data embedded in photographs.

Usage data: We collect analytics on how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, upload counts, and session duration. This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the product.

Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed and stored by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.

We do not collect or sell personal information for advertising purposes. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share your data with data brokers. We do not track you across other websites.

We use the information we collect to: operate and maintain the Service; process subscriptions and payments; analyze usage patterns to improve features and performance; send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, security alerts); and send marketing communications only if you have opted in during sign-up.

All images you upload are private by default. Your photos are only visible to you unless you explicitly choose to share them publicly via “The Field” (the shared public gallery). You can remove any image from public view at any time, returning it to private. We do not use your images for training AI models, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

We will only send you marketing emails (newsletters, feature announcements, promotional content) if you have explicitly opted in during sign-up or through your account settings. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Opting out of marketing emails does not affect transactional emails related to your account or subscription.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

Clerk — authentication and user management.
Stripe — payment processing.
Cloudflare — content delivery and image storage.
Neon — database hosting.
Vercel — application hosting.

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

We retain your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and uploaded images within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics are collected server-side without third-party tracking scripts.

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will take steps to delete the account and associated data.

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your account and associated data; export your uploaded content; and opt out of marketing communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@fieldlog.studio.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
